EHE International and Wellness Layers Create an Integrated, “Hi Tech – Hi Touch” Employee Wellness Portal Using Social Media, Wellness Tools and Clinical Data to Improve Health Outcomes
New Partnership Provides Employees with a Comprehensive Online Preventive Care Support Program to Improve Their Health and Lower Employer Health Care Costs
New York, NY --(September 30, 2010) - EHE International, America's oldest and largest preventive health company, and Wellness Layers Inc., a leading provider of health and wellness online and mobile portals for patients and consumers, today announced the availability of EHEandMe.com, an online platform designed to improve the health of members through engagement in preventive health care services. EHEandMe.com is the online portal to EHE International’s preventive health care program that offers a comprehensive physical assessment followed by a personalized healthy lifestyle preventive care program.
The fully integrated site allows for online scheduling of exam services, reporting of clinical findings, interactive participation in health coaching sessions, setup of personal preventive care plans, tracking of personal progress activity based on the personal plan, integrated nutrition and exercise trackers, and access to related health information, expert blogs, discussion boards and videos. The social media component provides further support to members’ desire for a healthy life by connecting them with a community of like-minded people.
“EHE International has been the leader in preventive health care since 1913 and is proud to enhance our traditional program with an innovative online offering that encourages engagement and provides our members with the resources that can help them make a real difference in their lives,” said Deborah McKeever, President of EHE International.
“While EHEandMe.com brings 21st century technology to our patients, the foundation of our preventive health program is still doctor-directed, which is why we are the preferred choice in employer-sponsored prevention and wellness programs,” Ms. McKeever added.
“Our objectives working with EHE International were to combine our coaching, wellness and social platform for a scalable and comprehensive solution that is easy to use by employees and that will track and demonstrate improved health outcomes,” says Amir Kishon, PhD, CEO of Wellness Layers. “We have been able to integrate our “Progress Tweets” concept and apply it to health care by adding recordable metrics to short messages that can be tracked and displayed in collaborative progress logs. We’ve combined current communication methods with practical applications for health, and look forward to seeing the results.”
